The most morphological feature of the Moon Shin’s sculpture is its symmetrical structure.
All organisms created by God have a symmetrical structure, the same goes for humans.
The symmetry pursued by Moon Shin is an absolutely pure abstract structure, and at the same time reflects the structure of the organic form of nature. This is why the abstract sculptures of Moon Shin are reminiscent of nature, the creation of God. Moon Shin did not seek strict mechanical symmetry.
Just as the forms of nature are slightly unbalanced and subtly deviated from symmetry, Moon Shin have been intentionally left to allow freedom and imperfections to permeate the symmetry of the work.

“The illusion of symmetry”, left and right balance works is pursuing change by breaking the symmetry finely into protruding or small parts, and this is the “providence of nature”, the principle of the universe.

The characteristic of Moon Shin sculpture works is symmetrical left and right. It is characterized by a combination of symmetry and asymmetry made up of a combination of spheres and lines. Sculptures are symmetrical, but like real living things, the left and right, front and rear are slightly different abstract shapes, and the upright shape of the sculpture reminds us of various living things. The Moon Shin experimented with a variety of materials, including wood, plaster, bronze, stainless steel, and rebar.

Oil Painting

Moon Shin, who started as an assistant to draw movie signs at the age of 13, became interested in painting, began to learn painting at the Tokyo Art School at the age of 16.
Moon Shin is famous as sculptors, but he started with paintings. Until the early 1960s, paintings were the main characters.
Early paintings were a modernistic tendency and was gradually changing into pure abstraction.

Coloring of Moon Shin is a flat painting that adds coloring to drawing.
It began in the late 1960s as a unique work that shows the artist's sense of color and ability to write. The author himself called the chorus of Moses' blood vessels.
