It is the 100th anniversary of the birth of world-renowned sculptor Moon Shin.
Through his creative work "Symmetry", while living in France, he held 150 invitational and individual exhibitions, including the Salon de Mei.
Moon Shin participated as a Korean representative at the 24 people's exhibition commemorating the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution in 1989. He was also invited to international exhibitions in France, Hungary, Yugoslavia, etc., and promoted his art and Korea to the world. In recognition of his art and achievements, the French government awarded the Chevalier and Officier cultural medals, and the Korean government also awarded the Sejong Cultural Award and the Gold Crown Cultural Medal.
Despite the strong artistic foundation of France, Moon Shin returned to Korea permanently in 1980 with the mission of developing the art of his country. After returning to Korea, he built a Moon Shin Art museum and donated it to his beloved hometown Masan. Commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of a great artist's Moon Shin, Changwon City carry out a commemorative project to promote his art world and achievements both inside and outside of Korea.
